Navigating the Year of The Hermit: Insights for 2025

How numerology and Tarot can help you to navigate the year ahead.

Have you set yourself some goals for 2025 or created your vision board?

Maybe you’ve made a resolution or two.

Whether the answer is “yes” or “no” I’m here to support you.

In this post I’m going to dive into the numerology and Tarot correspondances of 2025 which may help with your intention setting and provide some clarity for the coming months.

First of all, 2025 is a “9” year in Astrology. Why? Because 2+0+2+5 = 9.

9 is all about endings, release, letting go and completion.

So 2025 could be a great year to finally give something up that has been troubling you for years, like a bad habit such as smoking, for example, a toxic job or relationship, a negative behaviour pattern or way of thinking… the list goes on.

Just because 2025 is a “9” year also doesn’t mean that you won’t be able to start anything this year or experience new beginnings. But just be aware that if you experience any delays or bumps in the road with something you’re trying to create and bring into the world, it’s likely just because there’s something (or someone) you need to let go of to pave the way for that new thing to come in in 2026 (which is a “1” year signifying new beginnings).

We’ve all heard the phrase “ignorance is bliss” but it is only by confronting our shadows that we can stand in the light of truth and live a life of soul-led purpose.

In terms of Tarot, The Hermit card is the 9th card in the Major Arcana so provides us with the overarching theme or North Star for this year.

Whilst the Hermit can signify quiet reflection, meditation, resting and retreating on our own, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you’re going to spend the majority of this year alone or holed up in a remote cave away from all civilisation (although going to do yoga in the mountains or a meditation retreat in the forest could be just the ticket!)

But certainly connecting to your truth, your inner wisdom and your intuition will be vital this year, as well as anything you can do to tune out the noise of outside influences and the wider world, particularly if these are in conflict with what your gut is trying to tell you.

This is a year of awakening, a time for spiritual truth seekers to boldly go where none have gone before and stand firm in their truth, even if this goes against the status quo or what their own family, friends and community believe.

The Hermit is about enlightenment and shining the light of truth on the shadows, thus illuminating the darkness within ourselves and in our external realities in terms of governments, societies and systems.

This “shadow work” can be uncomfortable and unsettling.

We’ve all heard the phrase “ignorance is bliss” but it is only by confronting our shadows that we can stand in the light of truth and live a life of soul-led purpose.

So in summary, 2025 is a year of Surrender, going within to discover the truth about ourselves and our world and letting go (once and for all) of the cycles, patterns, people, places and things that we’ve outgrown and which no longer serve us.

Spiritual Lessons I learnt from…A BEE!

In the Summer I love to walk barefoot in my local park.
▫️
It’s a great way to ground and connect with Mother Earth but it doesn’t come without risks.
▫️
I always pray “Angel and Spirit guides please guide my feet and prevent me from stepping on anything sharp, dangerous, dirty or disgusting – especially dog poo and broken glass.”
▫️
I’ve never had any problems.
▫️
But one day I wasn’t very present.
▫️
I stepped on something and yelled as pain shot through my right foot.
▫️
On closer inspection there was a little stinger in my sole and I realised I’d stepped on a bee.
▫️
In that moment I was consumed purely by my pain and had to limp home.
▫️
But later I felt grief for the Bee as it had most likely died after I stepped on it.
▫️
I realised that my request to my Angels and Spirit guides had been selfish.
▫️
I didn’t care about stepping on the wildlife, I was just looking out for myself.
▫️
Perhaps this was fate and the Bee was ready to pass on to the next incarnation.
▫️
Some things will always remain a mystery.
▫️
But I vow to be as considerate as I can be towards the creatures I share this planet with for as long as I walk this earth.
▫️
Every time I visit the park I ask Archangel Ariel to bless the trees and offer her protection and healing to all the animals and plant life.
▫️
I also ask her to fill the hearts of all those who use the park with the deepest love, compassion and respect for this natural space.
▫️
I’d been very judgmental of the people who had been fly tipping and vandalising a place I love.
▫️
But I have to remember that all I must do is keep my side of the street clean (sometimes literally!)
▫️
And since I’ve been praying to Ariel I’ve noticed a significant decline in littering!
▫️
We can educate much more effectively from a place of love and compassion than from a place of judgment and fear.
▫️
When we judge others we also judge ourselves – who is holding up a mirror to you today?

6 Full Moon rituals

Tonight is the Full Super moon in Leo.

Full moons are the perfect time to re-energise, re-charge and look back on all that we’ve achieved since the New Moon.

Here are 10 ideas for rituals that can help you to harness the energy of the full moon – remember these are just suggestions and you can always create your own….

1. Have a ritual bath

Fill up the tub with epsom salts or your favourite essential oils, put on some relaxing music and let all your worries and cares wash away. The Moon controls the tides and waters so this is a very powerful way to purify and cleanse yourself. Be open to any visions you might experience and write them down after so you can remember them.

2. Cleanse and charge your crystals

Cleanse your crystals in the usual way (with sage or by placing them in salt) and program them with your intentions. You can do this by holding the crystal in your hand and focusing on what you want it to help you with or by speaking or breathing your intention into it. Then just place them on your windowsill or outside to soak up the full moon’s energy.

3. Make Moon water

Water that’s been charged with the energy of the full moon makes a good space and aura cleanser. Just put some water where it can soak up the moonlight overnight. Then pour it into a spray bottle. You could also put a crystal in the water like amethyst or clear quartz.

4. Release negativity

Make a list of all the fears and negative traits or aspects of your life that you’d like to release. On each line write “I release…” Then burn it (safely of course.)

5. Full moon tarot spread

On a full moon you might find that your intuition and psychic gifts are heightened. Here’s a suggestion for a spread you can try out. You can also use these as journalling prompts…

1. What do I need to release this Full moon?

2. How can I release this?

3. What have I achieved since the New Moon?

4. What do I need to focus on in the next moon cycle?

6. Make a Gratitude list

The Full Moon is a time of abundance and fulfillment so it’s the perfect opportunity to express gratitude for all the good and positive things in your life. Bury your list in the garden or leave it on your windowsill to soak up the moonlight. Whatever you focus on expands and you will attract more of it into your life.

Happy Full Moon!

How to use Tarot to manifest your desires

Tarot cards are a powerful spiritual tool that allow us an insight into our subconscious and can help us to communicate with our ancestors and spirit guides.

But did you know that Tarot can also be used with the law of attraction to manifest our dreams and desires?

Every tarot card not only holds an image imbued with symbolism and meaning but also an ENERGY.

It is this energy which can allow us to manifest the life we dream of.

Here’s some ideas to get you started….

vision board 1.jpg

Tarot Vision board

Create a vision board using tarot cards (you might want to reserve a deck especially for this purpose).

Think of a goal, dream or desire that you have and keep it in mind as you shuffle the deck.

Ask your angel and spirit guides to reveal the card that will help you to manifest your goal (s).

Stick each card on the board and write down some affirmations on a piece of paper.

Pin this next to it (or if using a white board you can write them around the card).

E.g You might have the goal to love yourself and be healthy and happy in your own skin. The card that might come out of the deck is The Empress and your affirmations could be “I am happy and healthy”, “I love and accept myself”, “I am and peace and feel comfortable in my own skin.”

candle magick

Manifestation spell

Start by casting a circle.

The simplest way to do this is to call in the elements or spirits of fire, earth, air and water and with your hand, a feather or a wand turn in a clockwise circle and visualise a bright white light surrounding you.

Ask for protection and assistance from your angel and spirit guides.

Write down your “manifesto” on a piece of paper.

Ask for assistance and guidance from your angel and spirit guides or appropriate Gods/Goddesses/Deities.

Here’s an example,

“Guardian Angel, heavenly spirit of the cosmos and Goddess Selene,

Please help me to feel whole, happy and healthy again,

Remove the energy and mental blockages that are holding me back

Let me live in abundance, and not in lack.”

Say this out loud x 3 and end with “And harm none, So mote it be.”

Fold up the paper and write the name of the person who the spell is for on the front (whether it is for you or someone else) and go over this with a pentacle symbol (pentagram inside a circle).

Once again shuffle your deck and ask for the card (s) to be revealed that will help you to achieve the desired outcome of the spell.

Place your folded up paper on top of the card.

Then light a candle, place this on top of the card(s) and folded-up-paper (make sure it’s in a heat-proof container) and spend a few moments visualising the positive outcome you desire.

Close your circle by thanking your angel and spirit guides and using your hand, wand or a feather to turn in an anti-clockwise direction. Ask for the energy and magic you have cultivated to be released into the universe in order to manifest your desire.

This is most powerful if conducted at the appropriate Moon phase, i.e Full Moon = Fulfilment/completion/wishes, Waning moon = letting go/releasing, New Moon = New beginnings, Waxing moon = building/working towards something.

WARNING: Be very specific and careful what you wish for!
